Hockey players have a reputation for being brutal. And sometimes clueless. They fight a lot, many of them are missing teeth, they love the cold; obviously, they’re a different breed. But just because they’re tough doesn’t mean they don’t have hearts underneath those beards and heavy equipment!
Brad Marchand of the Boston Bruins is considered one of the toughest and dirtiest players in all of the NHL, but over the weekend he revealed a softer side.
Just before the first playoff game between the Bruins and the Washington Capitals began, Marchand noticed that a young Capitals fan had been hit with a deflected puck during team warmups. He pointed her out to staff and made sure she received an autographed stick.

It was a nice gesture for a player not always known for them, and some fans weren’t exactly thrilled to see that side of Marchand.
Stop this we all want to hate Marchand and this makes it a bit harder

I’m no Marchand fan but that was a pretty cool gesture. Well done.

I hate that Brad Marchand seems like such a wonderful person when he isn’t playing hockey.

Even the most dastardly villain wants kids to have a good time at the rink. Way to go, Brad, you otherwise grumpy bastard.
