“It’s been a tough four years with my daughter.
She teaches me a lot and she has no idea how she makes my heart feel. I only want to give her the best, even though I ain’t at my best and have struggled all my life. She helps pull me through the toughest times.
I have a lot of doubts about myself and I really feel the pressure sometimes. I get being a father isn’t easy, if we all had it easy what would that mean? How would that even look?
She loves it when I’m being silly, she has seen me cry, she has seen me angry, and she has seen me at my worst, but there is no one in this world who can take my place in her eyes.
It’s priceless when she tells me she loves me and blows me a little kiss, how when she feels mad I’m the only person who can calm her down, though when she calms down she asks for her mommy. I don’t feel bad, I actually feel relieved she listens to me.
It’s a surprise to see she listens to me a lot, but it fills me with a huge sadness because I wish I could do so much more for her and be more for her. I am at a good place with my family but I still have my faults. We all do.”
My beautiful daughter keeps me from going astray and losing any hope I have in myself. She is my hope. She is all that I could ever ask for.
