“My daughters lost their daddy to cancer when my oldest was 2.5 and youngest was 11 months old. He was 29 when he died and his girls were his entire world.
I had been with him for over a decade since college, and was okay with going through life just the three of us because I was sure no one would ever love our babies like their own. Having the best uncle in the universe as their father figure didn’t hurt either!
Then I met their Papa. They were 6 & 5 when I met him. For the last 5 years (three as my husband), this amazing man has given them so much love, no one could ever possibly know that he isn’t their birth father.
He became a dad of three in such a small time period, and is living proof that pure love and being a great father are not tied to blood but come from a beautiful heart.
He does everything, from being first up every morning to get the kids off to school, drying/blowing out the girls long thick hair, and ironing dresses for all occasions, to giving them a hug/kiss every night before bed (when these pre-teens will allow him!).
We are so thankful for hitting the jackpot twice – #1 daddy and the #1 papa in the universe.”
