“This is my husband, Glenn, and our newborn daughter, Isla.
Prior to her arrival, Glenn had never changed a diaper let alone held a newborn.
Three days after she was born I was rushed to the ER for postpartum complications and readmitted to the hospital. Due to Covid restrictions, I was not allowed anyone with me, meaning Glenn had to take care of a three-day-old until I was well enough to be discharged.
He sprang into action, learning everything he could about taking care of a newborn from my sister; diapers, feeding schedules, how to prepare a bottle, what to watch out for etc. He took care of her the next two nights solo and absolutely crushed it all while holding it together worrying about me.
I couldn’t be more grateful for the dad that he was in that moment and the amazing dad he has been since.
We are two very lucky ladies to have him in our life!”
