Akeem Finds His Son in New ‘Coming 2 America’ Trailer

In case you didn’t already know, Eddie Murphy is back.
Like everything else from the 80s, the comedian and one-time biggest star in the world, thanks to 48 Hours, Beverly Hills Cop, Delirious, and Saturday Night Live, is making a long-awaited comeback. He hadn’t exactly gone anywhere, he’d just transitioned into family fare, and fans were left wondering if the Eddie we knew and loved would ever return.
Over the past couple of years, he has! With his hilarious Netflix movie about Dolemite and his triumphant return to SNL, Murphy has recaptured the mojo that made him a superstar. And while attempts to revive Beverly Hills Cop haven’t come together, a sequel to his classic comedy Coming 2 America has.
The movie reunites most of the original cast, including Arsenio Hall, James Earl Jones, John Amos, newcomers Leslie Jones, Wesley Snipes, and Tracy Morgan, as well as several of Murphy’s alter-egos. Prince Akeem returns to NYC when he learns he left a son behind, and brings him back to Africa as heir to his kingdom, much to his daughter’s chagrin.
The movie hits Amazon Prime on March 5th. Check out the first full trailer:
