Ryan Reynolds Enlists His Mom to Trash-Talk Chris Hemsworth

Ryan Reynolds' Mom Trash Talk

Everyone knows Ryan Reynolds is a nice guy.

He often plays a bit of a jerk on-screen, and he often plays a bit of a jerk on social media, but it’s clear he’s actually a really nice guy. First of all, he’s Canadian. Second of all, he does a fair amount of charity work, and third of all, he treats coworkers with respect.

His mom, though. She’s a real piece of work!

I’m kidding. Sort of. Because Reynolds recently recruited his mom to help him trash talk his opponents in the AGNO Superhero fantasy football league, in which various “superheroes,” aka actors who’ve portrayed them onscreen, compete against each other for charity.

This week, Reynolds is matched up with “everybody’s least favorite Australian” Chris Hemsworth, and because he plays fair, Deadpool declined to start beef with his opponent. Instead, he had his mother do it via video on Twitter – and provided this little intro beforehand.

“To my fellow @agboleague superhero fantasy football players. I don’t trash talk. Even if it’s ‘required,'” Reynolds tweeted, before unleashing his mom. “Even if it benefits the astounding work of @sickkids hospital. Disparaging others isn’t what heroes do. I was raised to treat friends with respect. #ChrisHevansprine.”

Reynolds then shared a video in which his mom, Tammy, talks shit about Thor for a solid minute, from a script Reynolds provided.

“Chris Hemsworth is everyone’s least-favorite Australian. And as a reminder, Hugh Jackman still exists,” Tammy Reynolds says. She calls Hemsworth a “no-good asshat who looks like a bodybuilder f—ed a platypus.”

The rest of the video is censored because, despite her clear hatred for Hemsworth, Tammy can’t bring herself to say some of the things her son wrote for her. But even with the bleeps, the Reynolds family doesn’t pull their punches!

Thor Is Becoming Hulk for Biopic, Hulkster Approves

Hemsworth becoming Hulk

The last time we saw Chris Hemsworth in a flick,  he was looking ripped while attempting to rescue a kid on Netflix. The time before that, however, he was playing Fat Thor in Avengers Endgame, and it was a riot. The affable action star proved he was game for anything, not just flexing his muscles and wielding enormous weapons.

He’s gonna need all those chops and all of his charisma for his next big role, as wrestling icon Hulk Hogan.

Hemsworth seems more than up to the task, especially when it comes to putting on the extra muscles necessary to run all over you.

The once and future Thor shared a photo of himself training to play Hogan in the forthcoming biopic, and it looks like he’s well on his way to having the 24″ pythons the WWE star was famous for.

Hemsworth spoke to Total Film about his preparation for the movie.

“This movie is going to be a really fun project,” Hemsworth said. “As you can imagine, the preparation for the role will be insanely physical. I will have to put on more size than I ever have before, even more than I put on for Thor. There is the accent as well as the physicality and the attitude.”

Hogan himself seems impressed, posting on Instagram that Hemsworth is both buff enough – and good-looking enough – to step into his enormous shoes.

Not much is known about the project, aside from Hemsworth’s involvement. Hopefully, it will be as fun and outrageous as the Hulkster’s antics in the 80s. And they’d better include Thunderlips!

Chris Hemsworth’s Guided Meditation Fails Probably “Won’t Make Your 2020 Worse”

Chris Hemsworth's Meditation Fails

If there’s one thing we can all agree on right now, it’s that things are A LOT. 2020 has been a lot, for a lot of reasons, and with the presidential election results looming, and potentially lingering, at the moment things are even more than they have been.

We all need to find methods of self-care, whether it’s a pandemic sized adult beverage, binge-watching favorite shows, or binge-wearing pajamas. If those haven’t been doing the trick, maybe you should take a cue from one of the Avengers and start meditating.

That’s what Thor is doing. Well, it’s what Chris Hemsworth is doing. Thor is probably exercising to lose that beer belly. But Hemsworth is both as fit, and as funny, as ever, and now he’s encouraging the rest of us to manage our headspace with a new health and fitness app – and some entertaining ads for them.

The app is called Centr and to promote it, Hemsworth has created a series of one-minute YouTube videos with “Affirmations That Positively, Absolutely, Probably (Most Likely) Won’t Make Your 2020 Worse.”

The series showcases Hemsworth doing his best to meditate his worries away amid the pandemic and a variety of distractions. Throughout each short video, he offers encouragement and the aforementioned affirmations, even when he himself is unable to fully ignore his kids, his dog, or the bugs.

Of course, the app has actual meditations on it. But they probably aren’t as entertaining as these.

Mad Max Furiosa Prequel Speeds Ahead With Chris Hemsworth and Anya Taylor-Joy

(Warner Bros.)

The last time we heard of the long-rumored sequel to George Miller’s acclaimed blockbuster Mad Max: Fury Road, the word was that it wouldn’t be a sequel. Instead, it was to be a prequel, centered around Charlize Theron’s Furiosa, and without Mad Max.

Apparently, that wasn’t just a rumor, as Deadline reports that the Furiosa prequel is moving forward. Miller has previously discussed Furiousa’s lengthy backstory, and it seems that he’ll now be spending an entire movie exploring it.

Deadline reports that the movie will take place before Fury Road, and will track Furiousa’s origin, long before she meets up with Mad Max. This means, obviously, that neither Tom Hardy nor Charlize Theron, who played Max and Furiousa last time around, will appear.

Instead, Miller has tapped Glass and The Witch star Anya Taylor-Joy to play the blonde bad-ass and has apparently recruited Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, to come along. Also appearing will be Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, last seen in HBO’s Watchmen (and starring in the COVID-delayed Candyman remake).

Miller himself will write and direct the fifth entry in the Mad Max series, which he began way back in 1979 with the original Mad Max. Having replaced Mel Gibson with Tom Hardy, it’s clear that the Australian director has no qualms with replacing one of his stars.

If Taylor-Joy’s outing in the Mad Max extended universe is even half as good as Tom Hardy’s, we should be in for a treat.

Chris Hemsworth Donates 1 Million to Fight Australian Bushfires, Urges Fans to Help

Hemsworth Donates 1 Million

After everyone celebrated the new year and as we rounded into 2020, one part of the world was dealing with a devastating catastrophe. The bushfires down in Australia are consuming the country, and the images coming out from the island continent are harrowing, tragic, and impossible to ignore.

25 people have died, along with nearly a billion mammals, birds, and reptiles, not to mention the millions of acres, including homes and businesses, as the fires continue to rage across New South Wales and Victoria.

Across social media, inhabitants of Australia are pleading with followers to do whatever they can to help, sharing mind-blowing photos of the scorched landscape. Among those reaching out are various celebrities, both inside and outside of the country, like, Pink, who pledged to donate money to help, and now Thor himself is making the call.

Chris Hemsworth, who stars as the Asgardian god in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, posted a video to his Instagram account in which he asked his fans and followers to assist. He has already donated $1 million and is asking for others to give what they can.

“Hey there guys, as you’re well aware the bushfires in Australia have caused massive devastation,” the 36-year-old actor said on Monday. “They continue to burn, there’s warmer weather on its way, we’re really still in the thick of it here, as is plenty of challenging times ahead still to come.”

He explained that no sum is too small, and every little bit helps.

“So, what we need is your support and your donations. That money goes directly to the firefighters, the people on the front lines, the people who have suffered, the communities that have taken a hit and are in desperate need for our support.” More than 130 fires continue to burn, and there is no end in sight as the warmer months approach.

See his video plea now:

Here are some ways you can help:

  • Donate to the Australian Red Cross, which is supporting thousands of people in evacuation and recovery centers across the country. Local residents can volunteer their services.
  • Donate to the Salvation Army Australia, which is providing meals and support to evacuees and first responders in multiple locations.
  • Extra room in your home? Offer to host people in need of emergency housing on AirBnB.
  • Donate to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, which is helping evacuated families recover. The organization is providing food and clothing, helping cover bills, and donating household items to those whose homes have been destroyed.
  • Donate food, funds or services to Foodbank, the largest hunger-relief charity in Australia.
  • Donate to a GoFundMe dedicated to displaced First Nations Communities that need to rebuild.
  • Donate food, toiletries and household items using Givit.

Chris Hemsworth Wants to Assemble Avengers for a ‘Three Amigos’ Remake

3 Amigos Avengers Remake
(Marvel/HBO Films)

It’s the age of prequels and origin stories and remakes and reboots and reimaginings, but some films are sacred and shan’t be touched. Like The Godfather. Or Raiders of the Lost Ark. Or The Princess Bride. Or Three Amigos.

*checks ear*

Wait a second, I’m getting word that Chris Hemsworth wants to remake Three Amigos with Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. If you’ll excuse me, I have to go buy tickets.

Okay, maybe Three Amigos can be remade. Maybe not. Chris Hemsworth seems to like the idea, having put it out into the universe while appearing at ACE Comic-Con Chicago.

“That was so sad about kind of finishing Endgame, was just ‘Were we ever going to get to hang out again?’ And I immediately started thinking ‘What else could we do?'” Hemsworth told fans, adding, “We could remake the Three Amigos or something.”

If you didn’t grow up in the 80s with HBO and a lot of free time, the original Three Amigos is a fairly bizarre flick about three silent movie stars who think they’ve been hired to perform their act in a Mexican village but were actually hired to oust a dangerous outlaw. The goofy comedy has gained cult status thanks to the comic styling of the three leads, comic legends Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Chevy Chase. With bonafides gained from careers in stand-up, Saturday Night Live, SCTV, and a string of beloved comedies, the original cast were all comic heavyweights, something Hemsworth and his Avengers friends – RDJ’s brief stint as one of the Not Ready For Prime Time Players notwithstanding – are not. But they do have chemistry!

Plus, Chris Evans was in Not Another Teen Movie, and looks to be having a lot of fun in the trailer for this fall’s Knives Out from Rian Johnson, Robert Downey Jr. is simply a national treasure of wit and charm, and Hemsworth himself showed off his comic chops in Ragnarok and as Fat Thor. Watching those three, fresh off saving the world several times in the biggest series of films of all time, play bumbling idiots in ridiculous outfits (what else is new?) would sure be a lot of fun.

The Marvel fans don’t disagree:

Could it be another blockbuster?

Hopefully Rocket Raccoon gets involved. He and Hemsworth are a buddy movie waiting to happen.
