“I knew my husband would be an amazing father very early on in our relationship. It’s one of the things that made me fall so hard for him in the beginning.
I’ve watched him hold many babies and have seen his love and joy with them. He’s never been bothered by a fussing baby or a dirty diaper, and is definitely the favorite uncle among our nephews and nieces because he is always down to play a game of tag or hide and seek.
It’s no surprise to me that our own two boys absolutely adore my husband. They eagerly await Daddy coming home for lunch and home from work at the end of each day. My husband makes the best forts, gives the fastest piggy back rides, has the greatest shoulders to be carried on, and gets the loudest laughs. His favorite thing to do is to go camping with our family and spend quality time together. I know how lucky our boys are to have him in their lives and it’s a true privilege to witness their love for him.
My husband isn’t just a great father, he’s an amazing partner to me. After the birth of our first son I struggled a lot with postpartum anxiety. He was so understanding of that, and was there to help lead me out of the darkness in my mind and back into the moment.
During the birth of our second son, at the height of the pandemic, he was by my side, keeping count during each push through a very difficult and stressful labour.
Parenthood is just as hard and tiring as everyone says it is, but the joy and laughter far outweighs all the hard moments. I couldn’t imagine doing this crazy ride with anyone else, and I’d never want to!!”
