Father Figures: In Your Heart
“My family was in a car accident when I was five months old, leaving me partially paralyzed to live in a wheelchair.
Growing up with an amazing dad and seeing all he did for me definitely raised the standard on the dad I wanted to be when I was older. However, I had tons of doubts on whether I was capable enough because of my wheelchair and disability.
Today, my son, Captain, is 5 and I can’t imagine what my life would be without him. I take pride in laying the foundation he’ll one day rely on to take on life’s lessons just like his ol’ man did, with Faith, Grit and Perseverance.
The joy of fatherhood isn’t dependent on the capabilities of your body, but rather what’s filled in your heart.
I love being a Dad.”
