“My dad, an Armenian immigrant from Lebanon who came to Canada, met an Italian woman, settled down and had a family here. Together they raised us to be good kids and to take care of each other.
We lost my mom to Leukemia a year and a half ago. My dad took such good care of my mom even before she was sick. He cooked for all of us, helped keep the house clean, was always a shoulder to lean on, was always my and my brother’s best friend.
When my mom got diagnosed, he spent every waking moment by her side. I then realized that my father wasn’t like other men, like other husbands, like other fathers. He was beyond what I expected. He had this type of love and selflessness I’ve rarely seen in people. He also has the most beautiful relationship with my daughter. It’s like they’re soulmates.
I just want him to know how much we appreciate him, how much we love him and how thankful we are to have him as our only parent now.
Love you, Dad.”
