Who doesn’t love a good fighting game?
Fighting games, driving games, first-person shooters, are the kinds of games that even non-gamers can appreciate. There’s a reason people still play MarioKart, and they make movies out of Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. They’re simply concepts, easily understandable, and easy to play without having to understand Greek mythology or why Link just woke up mostly naked or whatever. Put simply, these are games I can beat my kids in. And it’s even better if I can beat them as a character they love, like when we play Smash Bros.
Now a new game is coming up that features a whole new world of characters familiar to anyone who has watched Nickelodeon over the past 20 years, and that’s pretty much everyone reading this right now. Have you ever wanted to beat the shit out of SpongeBob? Or been Danny Phantom? Well, now’s your chance! Almost. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl won’t be out until the fall, but once it’s here I’m suiting up as one of the Ninja Turtles and making my kids cry! It’s basically Smash Bros with cartoon characters instead of video game ones, and it looks like a lot of fun.
Here’s the game’s official description – get a load of the list of characters!
