The UK Wants Arnold in Charge in the Event of an Alien Invasion

We already know what we’d do if aliens came to earth and demanded we play a basketball game to determine the future of our planet. We’d get Michael Jordan and/or LeBron James on the phone, have them recruit some friends, some cartoon characters, and Bill Murray for some reason, and take our chances.
But who would we want to lead us if it weren’t an intergalactic basketball game but was instead a straight-up alien invasion?
That’s the question BLAZE, a UK TV channel asked people before launching into their UFO Week of alien-related programming. 2000 British adults responded to a poll asking which public figure would be the best choice to lead in the case of an invasion, and they choose action star and former Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger.
And, according to his response on Twitter, he is ‘ready to serve.’
I want to thank the people for putting their faith in me. I am ready to serve. https://t.co/RiBtNmWtVi

The poll respondents really seemed to look towards Hollywood for solutions, with Will Smith’s experience facing off against aliens landing him in second place in the poll. The poll listed 20 celebrities, including former President Donald Trump (8th place), current President Joe Biden (last place), Vice President Kamala Harris (19th), and a variety of others including Sir David Attenborough, Bruce Willis, Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford, Sigourney Weaver, Gillian Anderson, and others. Even every Brits’ favorite punching bag Piers Morgan landed on the list at 13th.
The people at BLAZE seemed happy that Arnold came out on top, given both his action hero status and actual leadership experience, with a spokesperson stating, “‘Arnold Schwarzenegger is a strong choice for dealing with an alien invasion, bearing in mind he’s not only a screen action hero but was also Governor of California. Although it’s worrying to see that so many celebrities with fictional alien experience are considered by many to be better candidates than our current crop of world leaders.”
It is worrying. But at least Bill Murray isn’t involved. No shots at the king!
