As dads we instinctually put our kids’ safety before ours. This was apparent at Citi Field during the first inning of the Mets-Nationals game when Bryce Harper’s shattered bat went flying into the stands.
While nearby fans flinched and shielded themselves, a dad protected his two sons by swatting the shrapnel away.

And yes, he reportedly got to keep the bat! It would look great mounted on a wall at his home – where it would be easy to point out every year around Father’s Day.
