It doesn’t matter if you spent $20 or $200 at the grocery store, any dad worth his salt is going to do whatever it takes to bring all of those bags inside in one trip. Not only is it a perfect way to test our Herculean dad-strength but it’s also about efficiency, plain and simple, and few things get dads riled up like efficiency.
But a fellow who goes by the name “robertsnotes” on Reddit decided to shake up the grocery bag-carrying community with some ingenuity in order to make lives a little easier.
Introducing, the grocery bag carabiner:
Unsurprisingly, the suggestion of such a device led to some controversy in the comments. On one side, folks praised the use of such a hack while others claimed it was an insult to those who proudly sacrifice their manly hands and fingers on a weekly basis.
“Or you can carry your grocery bags by hand and prove your honor,” one commenter wrote, clearly viewing such a device to be on par with performance-enhancing drugs.
Other Redditors provided suggestions for preserving precious fingers in grocery bag-carrying pursuits, like using large canvas bags or carrying everything in boxes, but the general argument remained: Are you a bag-carrying purist or are you open to some convenient hacks like these?
If you’re a work smarter rather than work harder type of dude, you can snag these carabiners on Amazon for $7.59 here.
