Legoland’s New York Theme Park Is Set to Open in 2020, Here’s the 411

Parents and kids of all ages have new reason to celebrate thanks to a brand new theme park set to open next year. Located just 70 miles outside New York City on 150 sprawling acres, Legoland New York is now scheduled to open on July 4th, 2020.
Legoâs third US park, Legoland New York will be their largest so far, comprised of over 50 rides, shows and attractions. Familiar favorites such as the kiddie dragon coaster and Lego Driving School will appear along side several brand new attractions including Ninjago World and the Great Lego Adventure. The latter allowing kids to travel through the process of becoming a mini figure, following the manufacturing process from start to finish.

From pirate themed water attractions to trains that traverse the park, thereâs sure to be something for everyone to enjoy. If rides arenât your speed, take a stroll through Miniland, complete with micro-sized versions of familiar landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty and Times Square. Contractors are busy building the attractions, piece-by-piece, brick-by-brick, paying careful attention to every detail. The park estimates that Miniland alone will take approximately 22,231,368 pieces to complete.
While grand opening events are yet to be announced, Legoland New York Public Relations Manager Matt Besterman says it will be an event to remember. âThe opening of the first major theme park in the northeast in decades is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and you can be sure weâll throw a star-spangled party to celebrate it!â
The park has also released ticket and annual pass prices, with daily tickets “starting as low as $62.99.” Perhaps it’s best to start saving up now.
Whether itâs in New York, or at one of the other two Legoland locations in California and Florida, consider taking your family for a little trip next summer and build a few memories together.
