For people over the age of 15, the term “influencer” often has a negative connotation. We (I’m speaking for the over 15 crowd here) typically associate influencers with people trying to gain internet fame for the sake of attention and validation. That is the case sometimes, sure, but many influencers use their internet stardom to do a whole lot of good. TikTok star Charlie Rocket, for example, is taking his 5 million+ followers on an incredible mission to change a million lives.
Charlie’s goal is a lofty one, but his boundless determination means that he won’t stop until he’s done. Charlie became a self-made millionaire early in life, retiring from the music industry at just 29 years old. Now, he and his team spend their days driving around the country in Charlie’s Dream Machine RV, changing one life at a time.
“We were in Colorado Springs making a dream come true for this homeless man with a food truck, and we heard about Lyla’s dream, and immediately we fell in love,” Charlie told Fox News. “And we were like this girl deserves to have her dream come true.”
10-Year-old Lyla has complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) in her leg, meaning that she lives her life in constant pain. Though there is treatment for CRPS, there is currently no cure. Pain caused by CRPS can be so severe, it ranks higher on the McGill Pain Questionnaire (a scale ranking levels of human pain) than childbirth. Even so, Lyla maintains her contagious smile and zest for life.
Lyla dreams of becoming a baker one day. Her passion for baking is so strong, the act of baking even distracts her from the pain of her condition. To encourage Lyla to pursue her dream, Charlie and his team helped make it come true for 24 hours. In a TikTok series that’s received millions of likes in under a month, viewers follow Lyla as she lives her dream.

Aside from her dream of owning a bakery, Lyla has always wanted a pet pig. Of course, as part of the full-dream experience, Charlie also helped Lyla spend some quality time with an adorable piglet. Thousands of locals showed up to support Lyla’s 24-hour bakery, helping complete yet another part of Charlie’s plan – raising $100,000 to help Lyla’s family with the cost of medical treatment.
