Dad Photoshops Kids’ Drawings Into Reality and the Results are Unreal

Al and Dom are two kids who love to draw. Their dad, Tom, loves to use Photoshop and the man has serious skills.
Whether they’re of spaceships, Santa Claus, or really funky giraffes, Tom has been transforming his boys’ drawings into unnervingly realistic works of art for years. The results are probably unlike anything you’ve ever seen. So much so, that the family has garnered a sizable following on Instagram (121,000+ followers) and even published a book.
“It’s very nearly 3 years since we posted our first Things I Have Drawn image on Instagram, and it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster since then,” Tom told The Dad. “But the boys have always taken it in their stride, not yet comprehending quite what having that many followers on Instagram means. Or perhaps they’re just used to it now. They still pretty much draw what they want of course.”
Tom says that the focus has very much shifted to Al—the younger of the two brothers—since Dom’s drawings are getting more sophisticated as he gets older.
“The sweet spot was when they were 5 or 6 and their animal drawings were a bit more blobby. It was a slightly sad day when Al drew a bird with its eyes and beak in the ‘right’ place. I always loved their birds when they had a smiley face but also a beak sticking out the side of their heads.”
