A trip to Disney World is a dream vacation for a lot of families and kids, and that was true before Star Wars and the MCU became huge parts of the park. Disney World is also an incredibly expensive vacation, and that definitely true now that Star Wars and Marvel have become huge parts of the park.
Over the past few years Disney has developed several enormous themed experiences to enjoy when visiting the theme park. Galaxy’s Edge is part theme park, part interactive story, allowing families to experience life in the Star Wars galaxy. You can receive secret missions from Rey or Kylo Ren, build droids and lightsabers, fly the Millennium Falcon and drop lots and lots of money. The newest edition to that experience is in the grand tradition of super lux Disney Resorts, but set a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. Debuting in 2022, the Galactic Starcruiser is a hotel that simulates space-travel, allowing visitors to live inside a Star Wars adventure for two full days.
From the website:
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is a revolutionary new 2-night experience where you are the hero. You and your group will embark on a first-of-its-kind Star Wars adventure that’s your own.
Arrive at the Walt Disney World Resort terminal, board a launch pod and rendezvous with the magnificent Halcyon starcruiser. Stay in a cabin or suite with an exquisite view of space. Throughout the ship, you’ll interact with an eclectic collection of characters, sit down to exotic galactic cuisine and perhaps even plot a secret mission together.
As the itinerary continues, you’ll take the story further and deeper. Choose your path. Seek out the inner workings of the legendary starship, learn the traditional art of wielding a lightsaber and even jump on a transport to the planet Batuu—where your mission continues at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!
As you might imagine, this experience ain’t cheap either – the cheapest “sample standard cabin rate” is nearly $5000 for two people. For two nights! It sounds like a fun, unique experience that any Star Wars fan would enjoy, but it also sounds like something Jeff Bezos would broadcast.
