Heroic Teen Catches Toddler Who Fell From a Second Story Window

A 17-year-old from Istanbul, Turkey is being called a hero after footage of the teen shows him saving a 2-year-old who fell out of a second story window.
Feuzi Zabaat was crossing the street when he witnessed a small girl who appeared to be getting too close to an open window on a second story apartment. The toddler, 2-year-old Doha Muhammed, had apparently wandered off as her mother was preparing dinner.
As Zabaat made his way over to the other side of the street, he continued to watch as Doha came dangerously close to the edge. Several others in the area were unaware of the imminent danger facing the young girl, but thankfully Zabaat took the time to stand and watch as just seconds later, young Doha indeed came tumbling down.
Zabaat immediately prepared himself to catch her as the video shows, saves the girl with just inches to spare between her and the sidewalk below. Security camera footage shows the moments leading up to the fall as well as Zabaatâs heroic catch.
The childâs family is calling the young man a hero, the teen who recounted his experience with the BBC, saying âI did what was necessary.â Dohaâs family also gave Zabaat a 200 Lira reward, which is roughly $35 US.
Thanks to Zabaatâs astute observation and quick thinking, Doha is doing just fine and actually made it through the ordeal without sustaining a single injury.
We salute Zabaat and all the other teen heroes who rescue falling children. You have not only saved lives but have also given us all a visible reminder that things can happen in an instant and to always be aware of your surroundings.
