Jack Black is all over the place these days. He has multiple superhero personas on social media. He’s made plenty of quirky cameos amid the pandemic. Heck, even his aerospace engineer mom has made headlines. And soon, he’ll be gracing the final episode of Conan O’Brien’s TBS talk show.
O’Brien announced he was ending his show a few weeks ago, and he’s following through with an hour-long finale (the show switched to 30 mins in 2019) on June 24th before heading to HBO Max for a new venture, details of which are not yet known. But he and TBS are pulling out all the stops during the final two weeks of his show, even inviting a studio audience back to help him go out with applause at the Largo at the Coronet Theater in L.A.
“Following all LA County Covid Guidelines, attendees will need to be fully vaccinated on the day of attendance and show proof of vaccination,” the show said, according to Variety. “At this time, masks will be required. Tickets are available now. For more information and to enter the free ticket lottery, go to Teamcoco.com/Tickets. Fans can also follow @TeamCoco on Instagram and Twitter for special ticket giveaways.”
The guest list for the final two weeks includes Martin Short, Bill Hader, Mila Kunis, Dana Carvey, JB Smoove, and Patton Oswalt, before wrapping it all up with Jack Black.
Conan is no stranger to star-studded farewells, having hosted two already: one when the White Stripes helped him leave left Late Night with Conan O’Brien for the Tonight Show, and another when he was pushed out of the Tonight Show and brought Tom Hanks and Will Ferrell along to say goodbye. He’s been on TBS since November 2010 and this time he goes out on his own terms, with fan-favorite Jack Black by his side, ending 28 years in late-night television.
