On Wednesday night, the new trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home dropped. For months we’ve known this movie will be dealing with the multiverse, and we’ve been teased nonstop with the prospect of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire reprising their roles as Spider-Man, each from their own universe aka franchise. But when the trailer dropped, all we got were the villains.
Dr. Octopus, Green Goblin, Electro, Sandman, and even the Lizard appear in the trailer, which, count with me, makes five. That’s one short of six, aka the Sinister Six. Will there be a sixth villain? Some suspect Venom, or Morbius, which is possible, given that Sony owns those characters, along with Spidey. But what about Vulture?
Michael Keaton played the villain in Spider-man: Homecoming, the MCU’s first standalone Spidey flick, and while he’s soon to appear in the DCEU, reprising his role as Batman in yet another multiversal tale, the actor says he’s not done playing Vulture.
He went on Jimmy Kimmel to promote his Hulu limited series Dopesick, about the opioid crisis and told the host that he’s filming some new Vulture scenes. But for what movie?
“I’m shooting tomorrow; I’m shooting Vulture stuff,” Keaton said, declining to mention the actual name of the movie.
Could it be a late addition to No Way Home, perhaps a post-credits scene confirming the Sinister Six? Maybe it’s scenes for an actual Sinister Six movie that has been rumored. Or maybe it’s something for another MCU movie that will further connect some threads.
We’ll find out soon enough. Until then, check out the always entertaining Keaton’s interview with Jimmy Kimmel:
