Remember when murder hornets were a thing? Last year, just when the pandemic was kicking off, word spread about these killer hornets in the pacific northwest, and for a little while, it seemed like the Hunger Games were becoming real. Then nothing really happened and we all forgot about them; we had bigger fish to fry.
Now we actually have bigger fish to fry because terror has left the air and headed to the sea in the form of murder lobsters!
Okay, maybe they’re not murder lobsters (they might not even technically be lobsters?) but apparently there is a new threat coming for us right in our summer sweet spot!
On the Facebook page for Texas’s Big Bend National Park, they shared a photo of something called a “Vinegarooon” that looks a lot like a lobster but is actually a shellfish scorpion sent to haunt your dreams. This thing has huge pincers and can shoot ACID FROM ITS TAIL.
WHAT IS HAPPENING!?
Check out this Facebook post:
Apparently, they live in the desert but the heavy rains are drawing them out elsewhere. The good news is they’re basically blind and they mostly eat other insects, so we don’t have much to worry about. But that will absolutely not stop me from worrying, these things are creepy as hell!
Be careful out there, Texans!
