HBO Max is making itself the home of high-profile cast reunions. This summer, they unveiled the long-awaited reunion of the Friends cast, complete with the entire original cast, bit players, celebrity guest stars, and even a fashion show.
Now HBO, which owns Warner Bros., is bringing the cast of the Harry Potter films back together to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first movie.
Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, now fully-grown adults 20 years past their debuts in one of the biggest film franchises of all time, will be back on stage together on New Year’s Day, and they won’t be alone.
The first trailer for “Return to Hogwarts” teases those other participants, showing a handful of the greater cast receiving invitations. Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), Matthew Lewis (Neville Chamberlain), and Mark Williams (Mr. Weasley) make appearances in the trailer, which does not show the central three stars, who haven’t made a public appearance together since the premiere of the last movie in July 2011.
They’ll be together in public on New Year’s Day, right on HBO Max.
