Dad Tricks out His Sons Grave Digger Power Wheels and It’s Freakin’ Sweet

Some dads dream of one day tricking out their kid’s power wheel, but not Geoff Gallo. That’s because Geoff Gallo is a doer.
Going by “poppafixit” on Instagram, Gallo is one of those cool guys who just seems to be good at everything. From remodeling houses to swapping out transmissions, to spending quality time with his family, Gallo makes the rest of us look like we’re just phoning it in.
While stories of parents souping up their kid’s toys can be found all over the web, Gallo’s modifications to his son Wesley’s 24v Grave Digger are truly awe-inspiring. An upgraded motor, soft spring suspension and some seriously beefed up tires are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to this black and green beast.
Pictures of the build tell the story of just how committed Gallo is to souping-up Power Wheels. His workshop is stacked to the gills with the tiny toy trucks like some sort of juvenile junkyard. But Gallo shared on Reddit that he often trash-picks the old Power Wheels since it’s typically just the batteries that have gone bad.
Although swapping out a battery is something most of us can do (after watching a short YouTube video just to confirm we totally know what we’re doing) the other mods would likely be out of reach for the typical weekend warrior. However, for those other doer dads out there, Gallo has shared a ton of photos detailing the build and has answered questions on both his Instagram and reddit accounts.
In a post on Instagram, Gallo says it’s the time he gets to spend with his son working on something they’re both interested in that makes it such a perfect project.
“There’s nothing better than building with your children. I love that I get to share so much awesome time with my son and that he’s actually enthusiastic about learning what I have to teach. I’m so excited to see what all he builds on his own in the coming years.”
As for the tricked out truck, we’ll let this recent clip do the talking:
