If there’s any product in serious need of a good PR campaign, it’s Crocs. The recognizable foam clogs have found themselves on the receiving end of mockery and ridicule since their 2002 inception, and really, they’ve done nothing wrong. So they look a little clunky, but their functionality is on point. They’re comfortable, breathable, easily washable – but even so, they’re inexplicably universally hated. Here to flip the public perception on the synthetic fiber shoes is none other than the Big Dog himself.
Ok, so it’s not actually one big dog, but many dogs of all sizes. And they’re not actually Croc brand, but an homage to the iconic Swiss-cheese-esque shoes. Like any good PR campaign, GEHARTY turned to something universally loved to shift the opinion of Croc-skeptics – dogs.
That’s right, you can now purchase dog-sized croc-inspired shoes for your four-legged friend. The off-brand crocs are available in green, yellow, pink, and blue, and reviews are understandably mixed. It’s worth mentioning that calling these “shoes” is a stretch because according to the product description, these foot holders are “only suitable for photos,” and there’s “no way to wear daily or running.” Great.
Like any product description that was clearly given a quick run through Google Translate, these “shoes” make some pretty lofty and unclear promises. For example:
They cure sadness
“These dog crocs shoes can bring joy to your family and friends”
They’re wildly entertaining
“When your pup puts on the cute crocodile shoes, you will immediately take out your phone and record the funny moment.”
And my personal favorite
“When your dog wear these stylish shoes with other interesting clothes. YES, I am sure your dog can be the most handsome or the most beautiful dog.”
With 61 ratings so far, the “GEHARTY Dog crocs, TikTok Dog crocs Shoes, Blue Dog crocs for Small Dogs, Lovely Dog crocs Shoes for Small Dogs” have accumulated a whopping 3-star average. The reviews are mixed, but without trying them out yourself, you’ll never really know if you’re throwing away your opportunity to have “the most handsome or the most beautiful dog.”
Dog crocs will hopefully (?) be back in stock on Amazon soon, but while you wait, I’ll leave you with the only review you really need.
