Netflix Promises New Movie Every Week in 2021, Shares Star-Studded Trailer

In 2020, streaming exploded.
Not only did a variety of new services either debut or find their footing, but the pandemic also forced us all to stay inside and lean on the content we could access via our televisions.
Would-be blockbusters premiered on Disney+ and movies that you formerly would have had to go to the theater to see became available on-demand, and just about every major service became further committed to creating original content.
Netflix remains at the forefront. The platform that started by mailing DVDs to subscribers and rose to see its in-house productions get nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards is now a legitimate studio in its own right. With the success of prestige movies from auteur directors, like Roma and The Irishman, and action blockbusters starring major movie stars, like Extraction and The Old Guard, not to mention hits in the horror, comedy, and romance genres, Netflix is gearing up for a big 2021.
So big, in fact, that they promise to premiere a new movie every week. This week they put out a sizzle reel showcasing clips from and stars talking about 27 of those movies, which feature The Rock, Ryan Reynolds, Gal Gadot, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Melissa McCarthy, Halle Berry, Jason Momoa, Amy Adams, Chris Hemsworth and more.
