The Free Guy star recently used the power of his Twitter to clap back against an outlandish claim by the Richmond Greyhounds administration. The Greyhounds, you may know, are the fictional English soccer team on Ted Lasso. On a recent episode the character Higgins made a snide comment about the celebrity ownership of Wrexham AFC. The celebs in question are Always Sunny/Mythic Quest star/creator Rob McElhenny and Deadpool himself, who purchased the club late last year.
Reynolds and McElhenny did not take the comment lying down and firing back with letter – complete with RR McReynolds letterhead – demanding recompense for the slight, in the form of Ted Lasso’s famous homemade biscuits.

In the letter, the pair praises AppleTV+’s programming, namely the aforementioned Mythic Quest’s two seasons, and suggests Apple send the biscuits or risk being sued.
Apple TV+ are no fools, and they responded swiftly.
We like our high-profile celebrity arbitration just like Roy Kent: hard packaging on the outside, but soft goodness on the inside. Biscuits are on their way.

Obviously, the letter was very tongue in cheek. Reynolds and McElhenny know what they’re doing – capitalizing on the publicity available when a popular show references them – and are playing along. Hard to imagine anyone who caught wind of this story didn’t have a chuckle. And maybe they’ll even go check out Ted Lasso, or Mythic Quest, or Free Guy, to see what the fuss is all about. Well done all around. Now if only there was a way for us to get some of those biscuits…
